No Slot Clock, Arrived and Works

Today the chip came in.  It is a Dallas DS1216E  I purchased it on eBay for $6.50 with $4.00 for shipping and it took about nine days to arrive in a box slightly larger than a deck of playing cards.

Get Lamp

No Slot Clock, Short Follow Up

In my snooping around the internet I found some notes that said that the chip used for the No Slot Clock is not a custom chip, but one that is still available. In those notes, they mentioned the chip number.
