That’s the name of a documentary about text adventures or interactive fiction by Jason Scott. He’s also done a documentary BBS: The Documentary.
I had heard about them both some time ago, but had not decided to get either one. I was on YouTube the other night and he has uploaded a two hour portion of a talk about Get Lamp including showing portions of the documentary.
I’ve started watching it in my free time and it is very interesting. He interviews many people who were involved in the early years of text adventures. My initial thoughts when seeing some of the people interviewed were along the lines of he’s a lot older than I thought or younger as in some cases.
Many of the original Infocom people were interviewed and as I have mentioned in past posts, I am a fan of the Infocom games.
