To create a copy of a diskette boot your Apple with the ProDos 8, v4.0.2 Utilities Disk
- At the Main Menu for System Disk 4.0 choose 2. FastCopy
- At the Main Menu for FastCopy 1.0.1 choose 1. Copy disks
- At the bottom of the screen choose One drive
- At the bottom of the screen it will say, Write-protect SOURCE disk, insert it into Drive 1 and press Return… (The disk you want a copy of must be write-protected to continue, cover the notch) Put in the write-protected SOURCE disk and press Return.
- In the middle of the screen FastCopy with show reading a portion of the disk
- At the bottom of the screen it will say, Insert DESTINATION disk in Drive 1 and press Return… Put the new disk into drive 1 and press Return.
- At the bottom of the screen it will say, Ok to destroy (disk description)? If you choose yes here it will wipe out this disk by copying the SOURCE disk onto it. For (disk description), FastCopy recognizes ProDos, Pascal and Dos 3.3. Choose yes to continue.
- In the middle of the screen Fast Copy will show writing the portion of the disk that was read.
- At the bottom of the screen it will say, Write-protect SOURCE disk, insert it into Drive 1 and press Return…Put the SOURCE disk back into the drive and press Return.
- In the middle of the screen FastCopy will show the remaining of the disk being read.
- At the bottom of the screen it will say, Insert DESTINATION disk in Drive 1 and press Return… Put the new disk into drive 1 and press Return.
- In the middle of the screen, FastCopy will show the remaining portion of the disk being written.
- When done copying the disk, FastCopy should show in the middle of the screen Source disk: 100% read, Destination disk: 100% written.
- At the bottom the screen should say, Copy complete, press Return…
