Checkin

I  worked on mapper for a little bit again today, as well as my IFComp entry.  I also checked in with csa2 and csa2 programming.  Both were pretty quiet.

I checked in with a few other message boards I lurk on.  You can tell its summer as nobody is spending a lot of time doing postings.

— (boring PC stuff to follow)

I spent a greater portion of my free time working on my wife’s laptop.  The CPU fan that I just installed, never did get the PC up to speed.

It’s a 2ghz machine that has been running at .997ghz even after the fan was installed.  I contacted the vendor of the fan and they replaced it.

It came in yesterday and I installed it last night.  Still no luck.  I remembered a power setting that dropped the speed down to save battery life.  I looked it up and there is a BIOS setting that I changed and that fixed that.  I had upgraded the hard drive while I was at it.  Changed it from a 5400rpm 80gb to a 7200rpm 320gb and reinstalled windows XP and Office.

Things usually go dead in August. It will all pick back up in September, though!
