Apple People

When lurking and snooping around the internet, I occasionally run across interesting people.  People, who have been on the Apple II scene for decades or who were there when it started and moved onto other things.

In the last couple of months, I have run into several of these people.  They are new to me so forgive my ignorance for not having run into them before.

Bob Bishop was probably the first noticeable one for me.  As  far as I knew, I had never heard of him, yet I stumbled across his web site and there he was.  http://bob-bishop.awardspace.com/

Watching Kansas Fest 2013 from afar, brought up Randy Wigginton who I had never heard of but was there in the beginning.

I won’t go into what I’ve learned about them, because I wouldn’t do them justice.  I’ll just mention them and if you want, you can go look them up yourself.

Personally, I have become more of an Apple fanatic as I got older.  When I bought my Apple //c I was very focused on the machine, but now years later, where the machine came from is becoming more interesting to me.  I worked on the MacPlus when it first came out and hard drives cost more than the Mac itself.  I used and loved the machine and did some really neat things with it, but was not fanatical about it.  (I typeset a 300 page section of a directory on a MacPlus with just the 2-800K drives.)

I see myself spending more time at http://apple2history.org/ and buying his book when it comes out.
