I’ve been looking for ways to move files from the internet to my vintage Macs.
I can do it by downloading the files to my PC, copying them to a ZIP disk and then copying them off the ZIP disk.
There is always the ability to connect them with a null modem cable and use terminal software.
What I would really like is to network the Macs and connect them to my PC. I spent some time looking on the internet today for instructions on networking vintage Macs. Apparently using AppleTalk is so easy nobody has written much on the internet about it. I have found a couple of places that have some information on it however, so I know what hardware I will need to continue along those lines.
I learned from my reading that there is a way using Linux to share a PC printer with the Macs. Ghostscript take the place of, or translates postscript so the Macs can use the PC printer.
