Well, I’ve had today off, so I am getting some things done around here.
Those changes I made a few days ago to my wordpress setting are having the desired results. Spam has dropped from over a hundred a day to one every day or so.
The TV that I bought for my Apple //c is a Symphonic WF15L5. It cleaned up nice and works well. The only thing I seem to have a problem with is the text is colored and a little fuzzy. That’s something I’ve noticed with the few color monitors I’ve seen on Apple II’s.
We just had a big thunder storm come through and I was working on my Apple //c. We lost power and the screen went blank, the TV went blank and the lights went out. It lasted a few seconds and the lights came back on. A few minutes later I turned on the TV and the dvd I was watching continued. I turned on the TV for my Apple //c and the Apple //c was there waiting for me. Apparently the brick on a leash has a side benefit of power over short power outages.
Actually the storm has been coming through all afternoon and looks like it will continue all night. I have two cats and neither is a big fan of thunder storms. One seems very smart about it. She immediately goes into the kitchen and curls up on the floor in the corner in front of the cabinets. This is the lowest place without a direct view out the windows.
Any how I worked on Mapper for a little while, but with the thunder storms, I wanted to shut the Apple II stuff down to avoid problems, so I’m working on paper for a while.
I did a quick run of the usenet groups and they are finally picking up.
On the comp.sys.apple2 group there are a couple of threads going on that interest me even though for the most part I have no idea what they are talking about.
One of those is Apple II PI FUSE Implementation. He even posts a video in youtube which I thought was awesome. I have a general feel for what is going on, but can’t see a personal use for it yet.
Another that has involved a great deal of discussion is something called Runge Kutta Fhelberg in Aztec C. I get the impression this involves some sort of electronics simulation. I read along, but I still don’t understand. I’m guessing that’s because I have no electronics background.
I’m quite often awed by the crazy smart people I run into on these news groups.
