According to WordPress this is the 100th posting. If this were an episode of a TV series, I would be required to do this posting as a musical. Trust me on this, nobody wants that to happen.
First thing this morning, I booted up my Apple //c with Diversi-Copy and tried doing a dual disk copy. Diversi-Copy failed on the read part of the copy. Maybe the diskette is bad, but I had to go to work, so off I went.
Later today, I downloaded the same image onto a different diskette. Everything worked fine. I could copy the diskette with both Diversi-Copy and COPYA.
A few words about Diversa-Copy are needed here. The thing I always liked about it, but forgot, was its lightweight power. It makes copies and formats diskettes; ProDos, Dos, Pascal and CP/M. That is what it does. If you want something more complicated, there are other better suited products.
When I say lightweight, I don’t mean that in any kind of negative way. You boot the disk and when you get to the main menu, it tells you to remove the disk. Everything you need is loaded into memory.
A single drive copy takes two passes most of the time. It reads a chunk of disk has you switch disks, writes it. And finishes with the next read/write pass. To copy the Dos 3.3 master took less than 2 minutes, including boot time for Diversi-Copy.
I updated to suggested disks in the New User Kit after writing this.
