I received my Apple //c printer cable today along with two new ribbons.
I wasn’t able to connect the printer to the //c yet, but I did manage to replace the ribbon and try a test page.
The printer went through all the motions of printing and you could even see some letters. I pulled the ribbon out of the printer and looked at it. Then I looked at the other ribbon I pulled out. Both ribbons showed one small square impression. It looks like the ribbon is not advancing. I suspect it is not seated properly. I really didn’t have time to deal with it today, but i’ve dug up the documentation for the printer and plan to look into it.
On the PC side of things, I found a terminal program called Tera Term that allows you to send/receive files using XModem and Ymodem. I will try it out and let people know if it works.
