Old Computer Books, Pascal

This afternoon my two Pascal Books came in.  They came in packed in one of those plastic bag type sealed envelope making you wonder what kind of shape they were going to be in.  They were in fine shape.

Pascal User Manual and Report by Kathleen Jensen and Niklaus Wirth (Third Edition).  I have owned one of these before but couldn’t seem to find it.  It tends to be a formal description of the Pascal language and an introduction to programming in Pascal.

Oh!  Pascal by Doug Cooper and Michael Clancy (Second Edition).  This book looks more like a college textbook on Pascal programming.

I suspect that I will use them in that order as I get into Hamurabi, Pascal.

The point here is, I now have some printed reference material to work with and will be starting up with Hamurabi, Pascal, soon.

You are probably one of the very few people who are still working with Pascal. I don’t know of too many others.

I have all the manuals and disks for it… but I haven’t gotten around to exploring Pascal yet. I went from mainly Applesoft programming to now mainly 6502 machine language.

I haven’t used Pascal that much. I started learning it in high school. After high school I took a community education class in it and when I found out you could get it for the Apple II, I picked up a copy. I really like to readability of the Pascal code, however sometimes it is just easier to write it in basic.

  2. “Oh! Pascal” was the College Textbook used at my Community College with Turbo Pascal 3.0… About 1986-88

Yes, on the back cover there is a list of supplements for Turbo Pascal, MacIntosh Pascal and Lightspeed Pascal.
