At the end of June, the 26th, IFComp 2013 opened for business. This is the 19th annual interactive competition.
IFComp is a competition for fairly small interactive fiction entries. Check the IFComp website for rules, but the short of it is you have to enter by the end of August and upload your game by Sept 28 for the October 1 release to judges who will have six weeks to judge the games. The game should be playable within a two hour time period.
I think Apple II enthusiasts, who like interactive fiction, have a chance to really shine with entries here. It is a small platform, comparatively, and games would naturally be smaller.
