Simple Startup, Part 1A

While working on yesterdays program and post I found a need to include a listing.  This brings up two problems.

My printer is among the missing, as I moved a few years ago and it got separated from my Apple II’s.  It is in my very large, very full and disorganized storage unit.  So, I’m keeping an eye on eBay and the local papers for another printer.

The other problem is placing them in the posting.  As you may have noticed in past postings with listings, the format is not quite right.  I’m trying to come up with something a little better.

In order to create a listing for this post I had to load up AppleWin, configure the printer, and create a listing as you would with a real Apple II.  The printer output ends up in a file called Printer.txt  which I then copied to the posting.  For some reason all the end of lines go away when pasted into the posting, so I had to manually edit the listing.

Here is a listing of my startup program:

Now this program was written and tested on an emulated Apple //e using AppleWin and an image of my /PRODOSWRITER disk.

Once it was done, I decided to copy it to the real disk on my Apple //c.  I opened the AppleWin Configuration and on the Configuration tab made sure the serial port was associated with COM1.  I put the ZLink diskette and image of the diskette into the first 5 1/4″ drive on both the emulated Apple //e and the real Apple //c.  I started ZLink on both machines and downloaded the startup program from the emulated Apple //e to the real Apple //c.  I tried it out and it worked just as it should.
