Ultima I still has my interest. I’ve really been enjoying playing it on the color screen. It’s a minor thing, the color, but it increases the enjoyability of the game quite a bit, although the sound effects are kind of annoying.
I never had much interest in color when I first got my Apple //c. Back then a color monitor was as much as $200 more than a monochrome monitor.
Last night I stumbled across a web page which had screen captures from Ultima I in two columns. The left column was monochrome and the right column was in color. It was a great comparison, but I lost the page when my laptop crashed again. If I find it I will post a link to it as it showed how much difference a color monitor could make.
