Roughly, the last third of the book consists of nine appendices, a glossary, and the index.
Appendix B contains a summary of commands and functions for DOS, PRODos, Applesoft and Integer Basic and explains how to use them. Appendix C consists of a list of Peeks and Pokes. Appendix E holds tables and conversion charts.
A lot of the stuff in this book can be found in other books, but it is all together in this here. There is the large section of the book devoted to programming in basic, which with appendix B can help when you draw a mental blank. I’ve never seen a list of the peeks and pokes altogether like this. The charts and tables in appendix E will be very helpful when programming.
So all in all, if you had picked up this book in a book store, I think you would buy it. I know I’m glad I got mine, and look forward to reading it in depth.
I agree. This is a great book! I was actually a new Apple II user when I purchased the book last summer. I used it to help with my Apple II Ebay purchases and I have referred to it again a couple of times since. It’s a great contribution to the Apple II community.
